I don't need strategy, I just need a new logo:
It’s easy to choose and prioritise the business over the brand; the truth is these are the same thing. A slick looking logo won't do anything for you if your content, website and every other part of your business doesn't transmit the same signals.
Why do I need comms and brand messaging, what we have is fine:
A brand is how you shape and inform and align every part of a business. Yeah, that means the boring T&C’s on a website and documents, or onboarding materials, HR reports, Annual reports, or B2B events. Chances are you haven't looked at most parts of your business from a brand perspective. You need to.
This still feels expensive, why is this a good deal:
You're getting a Porsche mechanic to look at your Mazda. Chances are there are some tips, tricks and experience that will reveal where hidden performance lies.
You will always be able to find someone on Upwork or Fiverr to give you a cheap logo or an AI brand strategy, but they won't tell you how to use it, apply it, or sit down and understand your business to define what truly differentiates you from your competition.
I'm too small to need brand strategy or new messaging, I just need a website:
A strategy and comms process (even a quick + lean one) informs what you're saying on your website, your visual identity, your values. Articulating the business through your brand properly provides an external continuity that signals to everyone who you are, what you do, and your value no matter where you show up (website, social, signage, stickers, flyers).
What I have is still fine and will do the job:
Absolutely, that may well be the case. If what you have is still good enough we'll be the first to tell you. Before you decide that go look at a few of your main competitors and be honest — are you saying similar things? Does your brand or website look and sound better? Do you feel more premium? Or affordable? Is it clear what your differentiator is and why you would be the clear choice? If you're unsure we are more than happy to provide a second opinion.
I want to see some immediate ROI from a new brand:
A website and a logo do not make up your brand. They're ingredients. A brand, like a business, is something you need to build. That takes time. You will see the commitment to a new and improved brand compound over time. What it does provide immediately is time. It gives you time back, knowing you don't need to re-explain what is on your website, in your presentations, or on your ads. And time for a business owner is sometimes worth more than money.
Why should we trust a smaller business than ours to build it up:
We've spent two decades working in advertising, marketing and tech. We've worked at and for the biggest companies in the world (Google, Apple, Uber, Panasonic, Toyota, Coca Cola) and they all started small. Everyone has had to grow. And as big as they are now, inside it's still just a small group of people doing the work and the thinking that matters, the other 95% is just corporate layers, bloat, inefficiency and the theatre of business. You don’t need an enormous team of experts and consultants from the BUSINESS side and the BRAND side to grow. You need a small team of people who understand both sides of the spectrum.
